Rihanna says “F” LOVE: Diane Sawyer Interview

Everyone is  in a flizz over the recent interview between Diane Sawyer and Rihanna.  For the first time since she was beaten by Chris Brown, Rihanna spoke out about the abuse she suffered at the hands of this bastard.

Rihanna said she didn’t realize the message she was sending to other women and she probibly would have gone back to him if it weren’t for her fans.  She says that she could have gone back to Chris Brown but even if he never hit her again, some other young woman, taking her example,  might not be so lucky.

In the interview, Rihanna describes the embarrassment and the shame she felt after the attack.  Sawyer noted that, on average, woman will take a beating seven times before leaving.  Rihanna’s response was chilling, “actually eight or nine“.  From her response there is no telling what torture she has been suffering at the hands of Chris Brown.

Rihanna said, “These are young girls.  I just didn’t realize how much of an impact I had on these girls’ lives until that happened.”  She described herself as “strong”, saying that what happened was not her fault.  “it was  awake-up call for me big time.  I’ll say that to any young girl who’s going through domestic violence.  Don’t react off of love.  “F” love.  Come out of the situation and look at it in the third person and for what it really is and then make your decision.  Because love is so blind.”

I for one am so glad that she didn’t go back to the bastard.  No man, woman or child should have to suffer through that kind of abuse and Chris Brown should have had to spend YEARS in prison for his assault, not picking up trash on the side of the road.

I want to recant on the comment about the average woman allowing herself to be beaten seven or eight times before she leaves a man.  Women are known to leave their man, rather be a boyfriend or a husband for all sorts of reasons.  I love him but I’m not IN LOVE with him.  He takes me for granted.  We just grew apart.  He was unfaithful to me.  I didn’t feel like my own person anymore.  So basically a woman gets board of a relationship or it didn’t turn out quite like she had fantisized about and many are ready to move on to what she may think are greener pastures, right?

So, why in the HELL would a woman ever allow herself to be beaten even once before leaving, let alone seven or eight times?  A woman will leave at a drop of a hat if she isn’t happy but will stick around to be beaten…  It just doesn’t make any sense.
