Let me start by saying that I have many friends in law enforcement.  They do a very difficult job and are severely underpaid.  They put their lives on the line everyday and perform a vital duty that I surely wouldn’t want to do. 

HOWEVER, WHAT DO  YOU DO WHEN COPS GO A MUCK?  Over the past few years, most officers have been equipped with tasers.  These high tech devices were to be  used instead of deadly force, thus saving lives.  Some officers, instead of using the devices only when in the past they would have used deadly force use them even when the situation doesn’t call for them.   In some cases even when a person is cooperating.

In this video, a man seems to be obeying the officers instructions.  He has both hands of the hood of the squad car when the police officer approaches him from behind and tasers him in the neck.  If you listen, you can hear the ticking sounds of the taser as the officer continues to lay on the juice.  You can’t see what happens after the man hits the ground but it is reported that the man lost consciousness.

In this video a man stopped for speeding asks the police officer how fast he was going?  The officer refuses to answer his question.  The officer insists that he sign the traffic ticket that he has filled out on the incident.  The driver refuses.  I know from my friends that the tickets doesn’t have to be signed but it doesn’t mean that you don’t have to pay it nor apear in court.  The officer keeps insisting that he sign the ticket and finally instructs the driver to step out of the car.  The officer walks to his car as the man get out of the vehicle as he was instructed.  The officer immediately pulls his taser, yells at the man and tasers him. 

The drivers pregnant wife gets out of the car and is very upset.  I’m surprised he didn’t also taser her.  Near the end of the video, the officer is talking to the woman who is in the passenger side of the car and is very very close to her.  He is standing INSIDE the passenger side as close as he can get to the woman.  I also found this very inappropriate.

I found both of these videos disturbing.  It is my understanding that the law enforcement taser are to be used INSTEAD of deadly force, Aka, a gun.  But they seem to be being used instead of courtesy, respect or diplomacy.  What as American citizens are we to do?
